Who We Are
We are…the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
The National Football Foundation was founded in 1947 with leadership from General Douglas MacArthur, legendary Army coach Earl “Red” Blaik, and immortal journalist Grantland Rice. It’s a non-profit educational organization that runs programs designed to use the power of amateur football in developing scholarship, citizenship, and athletic achievement in young people.
Our chapter supports those objectives by organizing an annual awards banquet that recognizes member high school and college senior football players who demonstrate academic and athletic excellence while serving as leaders and role models in their communities. Nearly 400 high school and 35 college seniors have been recognized since our inception in 1997. Moreover, upwards of $100,000 in scholarships has been awarded.
Our chapter continues to grow. During 2009, we will increase our participating high schools from 36 to 44 and colleges from 3 to 7.
